IXcellerate Moscow One, an unparalleled Carrier Neutral Datacentre operator created by IDC-G and its Russian Alliance Member IXcellerate, addresses and anticipates Russia’s growing demand of reliable and westernised infrastructure with a new, future-proofed premier stand alone facility. Projected to fulfil Tier 3 standards with pure-play co-location and private cages, the datacenter meets and exceeds the standards of global financial institutions, carriers and major content operators expanding into the market.

With the enormous Russian market evolving so rapidly, it is clear that demand is growing in Moscow for sophisticated and reliable infrastructure, which, to date, has been lacking. Given there is 70% broadband penetration in a population of 15 million, many companies are still hosting their IT equipment in neighboring Western European countries. For multinational companies, there is the need to overcome the barriers to enter the Russian market, and be able to rely on a datacenter provider equivalent to the ones used in the West.

‘Moscow will become a big part of telecoms data networking and acts as a bridge between Europe and South-East Asia. IXcellerate recognized the need for modern, critical infrastructure in an underserved market and is proud to lead the arrival of smart sophisticated datacenter services in Russia, with IXcellerate Moscow One already in operation since Q4 2012,’ said Guy Willner, CEO of IXcellerate .

Since the inception, IXcellerate has been working with Emerson Network Power, a trusted technology partner, to deploy critical technologies across this large-scale project. Even though the Russian market is believed to have huge potential, the parties have taken a prudent approach to strategically build a datacenter in phases based on market demand and feedback. Following the build of the IXcellerate Moscow One Datacentre, Emerson Network Power wrote and published a case study on the solution deployed.

“It’s very rewarding to work with a forward-thinking company such as IXcellerate, especially when a project takes place in a market as dynamic as Moscow’s,” comments Peter Lambrecht, vice president sales IT and finance segment for Emerson Network Power in Europe, Middle East and Africa. “There were significant challenges for our Thermal Management and AC Power teams to face in terms of the climatic variation, and the deployment has been highly modular, which demands careful planning. We’re delighted that IXcellerate has recognised the benefits of our consultancy and portfolio of products.”
