Moscow is currently witnessing an expansion in the supply of high-quality carrier-neutral data centre space by leading developers/operators. CBRE’s recent report predicts that ‘given the growth in internet usage, the city population and the demand for good carrier neutral facilities we exepct the market to grow significantly in the next 3 years as it reflects changes in demand that traditional Tier 1 Western European markets have experienced in recent year.
Back in August 2011, the Moscow Times did an article on data center developers converting warehouses into high-tech facilities to satisfy Russia’s demand for data storage space (Warehouses Fill New High-Tech Niche, 02 August 2011), quoting the business case of IXcellerate and its co-founder & CEO, Guy Willner.
IXcellerate is now beginning operations and Willner will be speaking at the Datacentres Russia Summit in March this year. The panel discussion will have a focus on Finance and Investment for Datacentres. See more details here
