The Russian vendor of technological solutions and services DataRu has selected the IXcellerate data center as one of the sites to host its platform “DataRu Cloud” platform. The company has colocated seven racks with a maximum load of 8 kW in the MOS5 data center (Southern Campus) and has reserved the space for further expansion.
The decision to move to an external facility was made due to the expansion of DataRu’s business. Initially, the company focused on the development and support of data storage systems, server, and networking solutions for high-load databases and mission critical applications.
However, in 2024, the vendor launched several new directions, including cloud services. The “DataRu Cloud” portfolio includes IaaS, HaaS, PaaS, and SaaS products that are designed with the highest standards of performance, flexibility and security.
This new strategy required innovative approaches to equipment storage and minimization of operating risks. In 2024, the DataRu Cloud team began searching for a commercial data center to host its infrastructure. The selection of a potential partner was guided by stringent requirements. Due to the rapid growth of the company, it was crucial to have a facility that could accommodate scaling and increased loads per rack.
“DataRu Cloud” was looking for a data center with confirmed plans of new construction, power capacity growth and additional rack spaces for years to come. Also, the principal conditions were:
- Data center neutrality: to mitigate competition risks in the cloud business;
- High level of connectivity: at least two independent fiber optic entries into the data center building and a wide choice of carries on-site;
- Transparent pricing principles and predictable cost scaling.

The “DataRu Cloud” infrastructure is colocated in the third innovative MOS5 phase, which is built using the unique LSV cooling technology (Low Speed Ventilation). This solution eliminates the need for traditional raised floors and enables low-speed air flows, which significantly reduces electricity consumption and extends equipment lifespan. Maintenance and repair are conducted through the technical ventilation chambers without requiring work in the data hall, ensuring additional safety and reduced downtime.
As a part of the installation for “DataRu Cloud,” IXcellerate engineers set up racks and PDUs, conducted a load test, connected the customer’s equipment to monitoring and access control systems and set up a personal account at IXc-desk customer portal.
