Growth includes connectivity and application providers delivering compliance for GDPRR
London, Moscow 7 December 2017. IXcellerate, the carrier neutral, leading Tier3 commercial data centre in Russia, today announced the latest phase in a programme of technology and marketing initiatives to expand the membership, connectivity and application capabilities of its Financial Ecosystem.
Since opening its doors in 2012, IXcellerate has become a focus for the finance industry in Russia and now hosts the main market data hubs, a number of trading houses and several major banking institutions including the latest addition of Agricultural Bank of China (China’s third largest lender by assets).
Following the signing of a $15 million convertible loan agreement with Goldman Sachs, IXcellerate has moved forward with plans to expand the footprint of its Moscow One data centre whilst ensuring that it continues to perform to internationally recognized quality standards.
During 2018, IXcellerate will continue to grow the number of key Financial Services market infrastructure partners available at Moscow One Datacentre, which include Thomson Reuters, Orange Business Services, BSO, RETN, Telia, NTT Communications, Softline, Onlanta and FORS Distribution. Clients in Moscow One are also able to take advantage of a range of alternative connectivity options including access to global cloud operators such as Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, IBM Softlayer, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and many others.
Michael Ourabah, CEO of BSO, a leading provider of technology infrastructure for capital market participants and partner at IXcellerate commented, “We have seen interest building in Russian markets as the economy has been strengthening and diversifying over the past few years.” Adding, “We believe the Moscow One campus is a great place from which to benefit from new growth opportunities in this market.” BSO was voted best low latency network provider in 2017 by the financial community.
In addition to the campus growth and connectivity option enhancements, IXcellerate will work with The Realization Group (TRG), a specialist financial services marketing and strategy consultancy, to create a range of thought leadership campaigns to run throughout 2018. The campaigns will focus on both business and technology issues that impact firms looking to operate in Russia and beyond including the need for secure compliant data storage and distribution in order to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations in Russia (GDPRR).
Guy Willner, CEO and co-founder of IXcellerate, says “Having worked with TRG before to create a financial ecosystem at LD4 and FR2 with IXEurope (which was subsequently sold to Equinix), I am looking forward to having industry support in making a new audience aware of what IXcellerate can do for firms operating in the Financial Services arena.”
