On June 29 2017, Moscow-based Data center IXcellerate hosted its annual Rockin’ Russia summer party, which for the fifth time brings together company’s partners and clients.
As it has been established since 2013, the party resembles more a country rock festival, than an official soiree. The open-air event in the north of Moscow was visited by more than 170 guests, including representatives of global corporations and Russian companies, leading domestic and international providers and services companies, IT industry experts and media.
Spread across the outdoor premises with lavish lawn, the festival offered several zones where the guests could mingle, network, relax and enjoy a variety of activities. Between the rounds of delicious kebab and BBQ servings the attendees were welcome to play a couple of soccer matches and try out virtual reality sets at the video game booth sponsored by service provider Onlanta, enjoy Ice cream and coffee provided by the carrier Mastertel, kick back in the chill-out zone with ottomans sponsored by cable manufacturer Siemon, pilot a plane in a simulation and land it safely (or not) straight onto the hookah area with our partner, a cloud provider Softline. And of course – the retro corner was brought back (after unending requests) by IT provider Orange Business Services, for the guests to drink cocktails to the hit rock tunes of the 70s. Boy was that delicious! Everyone was also invited to boost their cooking skills at the pilaf masterclass, and stir some of that competitive spirit by participating in fierce grill-battle.
Of course, the evening would not be complete without some great live rock music, blasting from the stage sponsored by the energy company EON. Talented musicians from the Philips band – The HeartBeat Sound, and the Acronis band – The Safe & Sound, delivered kilowatts of fiery rock’n’roll. The concert culminated with the performance of IXcellerate’s own rock band. In the blink of an eye, the guys tore the relaxed crowd away from their comfy ottomans onto the dance floor with Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love”, charging the evening air with dazzling guitar riffs and excellent vocals.
As in the last years, the event became a chance for IXcellerate to share news and make some announcements. One of the big ones was that the company reached breakeven point in 2016. On top of that, the infrastructure of the data center is constantly developing and IXcellerate plans to open a new data hall, which has every chance to become the biggest one in Russia. Prior to the party, one of company’s key partners, cloud provider Softline, has finished allocating its virtual data center using IXcellerate capacities. Because of the strategy of neutrality, the amount of telecom providers operating on IXcellerate’s platform is constantly growing. As of now, the clients of the data center are able to connect to communication hubs of 39 providers, which allows holding efficient control over the total cost of ownership.
